Visual or written — how do I choose?
Visual specs (wireframes, mockups) are unbeatable for validating with non-technical people, internally or when presenting to funders. Written specs are necessary when consulting providers who need to quote precisely. For serious projects, we recommend both — they complement each other.
How long does it take to produce project specifications?
2 to 3 weeks for a simple project (showcase website, basic mobile app), 4 to 6 weeks for a major project (custom CRM, business platform), longer for very large projects. We give you an exact timeline after the first scoping conversation.
Do I already need to know what I want?
No, and in fact it's rare. Most of our clients arrive with a still-fuzzy idea, and crystallizing it is exactly the job of the specification document. We start from your business objective and work back to the features through structured workshops.
Can you then build the project yourselves?
Yes, but there's no obligation at all. Many clients hand us the project after the specification phase; others consult competing providers — and we're happy to help with that too. The document belongs to you, and you can do whatever you want with it.
What format is the final document in?
Word, PDF, Notion or Figma, whichever you prefer. We often recommend Notion because it lets your team comment, track progress and keep the document alive throughout the project. On request, we also provide a 3-to-5-page executive summary for management.
